Hopped over to Japan for the month of August when the summer weather is just brutal. Despite that, summer has its charms too. There are many festivals of sorts and great occasions (mom’s birthday) for a fancy dinner out. I got to go to LURRA°, a restaurant built in a machiya in Kyoto that I’ve followed since they began building. It was such a nice experience that it revived my interest in dining out! The space, the most charming staff who genuinely seem to love working there, and the beautiful and hyper-seasonal food. It was perfect.

8月の日本は気候が厳しいですね。熱中症に気を付けながらも夏にしかない日本の楽しみ方が色々ありますね。お祭りや花火やさまざまなフェスティバル、我が家のお祝い事、母のお誕生日も暑い8月です。お祝いを口実に出来上がる前からずっとフォローしていた京都の町屋さんにある素敵なレストランLURRA°に行けました！場所、お料理、味も見かけも、それからとってもチャーミングな働いている皆さん楽しそうで、全てが素敵でした。最近飽きていたファインダイニングにまた目覚めたかも。今度はどこに行こうかな？
