I knew almost nothing about dinosaurs in Japan, let alone anything about the Fukui region. So to fill in that blank, Mom and I took a spontaneous trip to Fukui’s Dinosaur Museum, about four hours from Tokyo. And wow, was it worth it. Towering fossils, life-sized models that move and growl, and an immersive space that makes you feel like you’ve entered a prehistoric world. The dino experience doesn’t end at the museum either—Fukui City itself has animatronic dinosaurs greeting you right outside the station. It’s fun, surreal, and absolutely unforgettable.

日本に恐竜がいたなんて、しかも福井県がその舞台だったなんて、まったく知りませんでした。その頭の空白を埋めるべく、母と一緒に急きょ福井へ——東京から約4時間の旅。目的は福井県立恐竜博物館。そして、これがもう大迫力！本物のように動いて唸る恐竜たち、巨大な化石、まるで太古の世界に迷い込んだようなスケール感。うわぁ、人間って小さい！って思ってしまう感じで。しかも恐竜体験は博物館だけではなく。福井駅周辺でも、動く恐竜たちがそこかしこに登場していて、街全体がちょっとしたテーマパークのようでした。楽しくて、不思議で、みんなに勧めたい。
