September 8, 2025 — A Lunar Eclipse at 1:52am.
This full lunar eclipse was only visible from this side of the world—not in North America—so I wasn’t sure if I’d catch it from my apartment balcony in Japan. But I set an alarm, woke up at 1:30am just in case… and there it was. The moon, glowing and unobstructed, hanging perfectly in view. The real challenge? Staying awake long enough to see the shadow creep in. Here’s my iPhone shot at 1:52am. Not bad for a half-asleep photographer!

2025年9月8日 午前1時52分 ― 月食。
この日の皆既月食は日本からは見えるけれど、北米では見えないと聞いて、果たして自宅のベランダから見えるのか半信半疑。でも1時半に目覚ましをかけて起きてみたら…満月がくっきり！完璧な角度で空に浮かんでいました。問題は…そこから眠気に勝って、月が欠けていくのを見届けること。こちらが1時52分にiPhoneで撮った写真。寝ぼけた状態のわりには、悪くないでしょ？
