Happy 2026! This was the first sunrise of the year, and what a beautiful one. It was unusually cold in Miami that morning, but I’m glad I bundled up and made it out to the beach. Watching the first sunrise is a Japanese tradition, and to me, it just feels like the right way to start the year—by greeting the sun. I even tried painting it in watercolor… maybe by next year I’ll be good enough to share it here. We’ll see. Here’s to a new year that’s a little calmer, a little happier, and a lot healthier for everyone.

あけましておめでとうございます、2026年。初日の出！って特別に気持ちいいよね。マイアミで珍しく肌寒い朝だったけど起きてビーチまで行って良かった！太陽に「おはよう！」と挨拶するところから始めるのが、やっぱりしっくりくる。この日の出、水彩でも描いてみたけれど…来年にはここに載せられるくらい上達してるかな。新しい趣味にチャレンジ！色使うの難し〜
