NYってメキシコ料理の美味しい所が少ないのよね。でも最近売れっ子元デザートシェフが開けたメキシカンレストラン、Empellon、がビックリするぐらい美味!デザートシェフならではの味の生かし方に結構納得。何も甘くは無くスパイスのバランスが凄くよくって食事を楽しませてくれる感じ。味が楽しいって思ったの久しぶり。
There’s a lack of really good mexican restaurants in NY. But that’s a thing of the past. A well known pastry chef, Alex Stupak, opened Empellon recently and it’s pretty amazing. He brings out flavors in such a way that you get the sensibilities of a pastry chef. But without making anything sweet. I think it’s the balance of spices and textures? It was a happy eyeopener and I’m already looking forward to my next meal there.
