January 23: Iceland

Geiser in Iceland

Came to Iceland!! It’s such a beautiful and surreal place. Really, out of this world. Here’s where the world famous Geiser is (which you can see it exploding into the air every 10 minutes or so). Most of the water puddles are actually naturally (lava) hot water so the steam gives the area a mystical feel. I was under the impression that the days are really short in the winter but there was surprisingly enough daylight to make it feel more “normal”. What was more surprising was that Iceland is warmer than NY in the winter :D. And how amazingly delicious the food is. I got to try some whale (as a steak) and puffin! Oh and yes, the aurora! The main purpose of the trip!! Was incredible. and to complement that, the night sky full of stars was hypnotizing.
