Tatami-iwashi, Sake Food

It hasn’t been that long since I came back from Japan but for someone that likes a drink in the evening, it’s always nice to come to Sakagura for a nice cold sake. And finding tatami-iwashi on the menu just makes it that much more enticing. It’s a perfect match to a dry cold (or hot!) sake. I used to eat these wonderful sheets of baby sardines since I was  a kid, and I’m happy to see them on a menu outside of Japan. Feels random but more and more people have gotten so knowledgeable about food world wide. Especially in NYC. Makes me happy!
