People know that blowfish/pufferfish have intestines and liver that is poisonous enough to kill you (and fast) but it’s so commonly eaten (prepared by licensed professionals) that that thought hardly ever crosses a Japanese person’s mind. So no freaking out. We enjoyed an everything-blowfish 🐡 dinner which was delicious. The skin (full of collagen?), sashimi (it’s really for the clean flavor and texture), grilled on a shichirin, baked shirako, and hotpot. Where the blowfish flesh was still moving 😱. With the broth from the hotpot, add rice and some eggs and finish the dinner with a nice zosui. mmmm ☺️
