ハロウィーンの次の日はメキシコでは死者の日(３日間続くのかな？）。日本のお盆と一緒。メキシコまで見に行ってきました！骸骨をテーマに作られた物が沢山。砂糖の頭骸骨、陶器の骸骨、などなど。家族で夜お墓に行って親族と時間を過ごす習慣。夜はもう寒いから焚き火炊いたり毛布にくるまったりしてロウソクやお花を沢山お墓に飾ります。こんな感じならお墓があるのも分る気がする。本当のお墓参りだな。

We came to Mexico City for the Day of the Dead this year. Each culture has their own way of remembering the dead and Mexico does it beautifully. You see skulls and skelletons adorned the entire city. Lots of candles to light up the graves. Lots of flowers adorning the graves. It’s tradition for family to go hang out with the dead all night at the cemetery telling stories and just being there. Makes you realize why there are graves in the first place.
