ラテン系のカルチャーではスピリチュアルな儀式は文化のうち。お願い事のおまじないやお守りの感覚は日本も一緒だよね。そんな儀式が出来るように道具や香りやロウソクが買えるところをボタニカって言います。マンハッタンではハーレムとかまで行かないとあまり見かけないタイプのお店。そんな分けでハーレム 行った時にボタニカ見つけました！中には不思議な物が沢山。それに数えきれないくらい色々な願い事に効くキャンドルが。何を願おうかね？

Have you been to a botanica? It’s where you can find an array of spiritual/religious/mystical supplies. Like candles you burn to make you rich, find love, or remove a jinx. We went to one in Harlem! Think of a wish and it’s likely you’ll find a cologne, or a candle that will help you in obtaining that wish. I see this more like entertainment but some people seem to take it very seriously. We brought home a Virgen de Guadalupe candle. And no, none of the ‘bring me love’ stuff 😀
